Jason Spahr wasn’t going to let an abysmal weather forecast across the Northeast keep him from his new Lux Car – he had already waited too long. “I qualified in October and it was already December,” says the Utah Ambassador I Emerald. “I just couldn’t wait anymore.”
It had taken Jason awhile to locate the exact vehicle he wanted – a white Lexus GS 350 AWD. And when he did, it was in Rhode Island – in the neighborhood of 2,500 miles away from his garage. “Either trucking companies were already booked or they weren’t running across the North because there were some terrible storm fronts that were supposedly going to hit,” he tells. “I had purchased the vehicle on December 14 and it was already early to mid-January. I decided to put my all wheel drive to the test.”
The daring Leader thought he could do some Business-building while on the road, so he enlisted Star Director Jared Vincent to join. They flew to Rhode Island to meet the Lux Car, started it up, listened to the engine purr, and headed straight back for Utah.
“We stopped for a quick bite in Newport, Rhode Island. We ate salmon and some other white fish that I can’t remember the name of. It was easily the best seafood I have ever had in my life,” Jason recalls.
“But, it was the car that was clearly the highlight of the trip. I have never been in a machine that drives even close to this well. It was such a treat. We took turns driving and making FreeLife calls when we weren’t. It was such a great time. We took pictures every time we entered a new state − 16 states (including Utah and Rhode Island) and 2,500 miles in 48 hours.”
But how did the Lexus handle the snowy weather?
“We didn’t get any,” Jason says with a laugh. “We were prepared for a battle with the elements but instead just enjoyed the feel of high grade rubber tires on smooth asphalt – what an unbelievable ride. In retrospect, those trucking companies could really have saved me a few miles on my new Lux Car. Then again, the trip was so worth it.”
And, Jason’s opinion of the Lux Car Club?
“It works as an incentive plan,” Jason assures. “Justin got to experience the feel of a FREE Lexus GS 350 and you can bet that he is doing something this very minute to work toward owning one himself.”
