Less than two months after TAIslim® BOOSTERs were introduced at Breakthrough 2011, they were already catching the attention of the scientific community. Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Haru Amagase and Chief Product Officer Rick Handel presented results of a study that shows BOOSTERs increase both taste preference and metabolic rate when added to the TAIslim® SHAKE to the 2011 Obesity Society conference.

In the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study, taste preference among test subjects increased about 27 percent when either Super Fruits or Super Greens BOOSTERs were added to SHAKEs. The “gold standard” research methodology also showed BOOSTERs increased the metabolic rate of the SHAKE by 20 percent. Metabolic rate, or calorie burning, is a key component to weight loss.

Those BOOSTER benefits, along with the fact that FreeLife® products have no side effects, really impressed his fellow scientists at the Obesity Society conference, says Dr. Amagase. “It is rare in the nutrition world when you see a meal replacement shake that encourages weight management by both encouraging usage and increasing metabolic rate, not to mention having no side effects,” Dr. Amagase says. “They were very surprised to see those benefits and very interested about practicality. They asked the best ways to apply our studies.”
